The Pi Delta chapter is Theta Tau's engineering brotherhood at UC Irvine, a working community of students who want to be better engineers and better people at the same time. We're the chapter that shows up to office hours together, fills the front rows at design reviews, and ends up at the same recruiting events whether we planned it or not. The stat tiles have the facts; the part the numbers can't show is how often we end up back at somebody's apartment for boba and a chaotic group project at 1 AM.

Theta Tau is the nation's oldest and largest professional engineering fraternity. A group of UCI students brought it to the Anteater community as the Pi Delta chapter at UC Irvine, and it has been growing ever since.

Our story
How the chapter began.
- 1904
Theta Tau is founded
Four engineering students at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis start what they call the Society of Hammer and Tongs, the seed of Theta Tau.
- 2013
Pi Delta begins at UC Irvine
12 students lead the push to bring Theta Tau to UCI: Richard Staebler, Arshitha Vaidhyanathan, Jonathan Wong, Clever Tan, Jacqueline Kim, Sarah Leung, Terence Leung, Amy Nguyen, Christopher Louie, Dhivya Sridhar, Jeffrey Go, Jonathan Turcios.

Installed as the Pi Delta chapter
The colony is officially installed as the Pi Delta Chapter of Theta Tau, after which the Alpha Class and every class since have carried the chapter forward.

Southwestern Region
Southwestern Region of Theta Tau.
The Southwestern Region is where the Pi Delta chapter finds its closest siblings: the California and Arizona chapters we share traditions, rituals, and lineage with. Brothers meet across schools at the Regional Leadership Academy and other regional gatherings, swapping ideas and building friendships beyond UCI.
